I was in a funk with my running this weekend. I didn’t do what I wanted or what I was supposed to do according to my training schedule. I did suck it up and participated today. I am tired and sore though… I also really need to go and get new running shoes. Mine are about a year old and were worn for both training and running the Cherry Blossom last year and then ever since. As my training is starting to intensify, I can feel how worn out these shoes actually are now. Hopefully this week or weekend, I will get new running shoes.

Feb 16 and Catching Up

All of the snow has slowed down my training/ running, but I made it into the Cherry Blossom 10 miler and I am excited. I have about 2 months to get ready for it.

Josh and I went running on Friday and I went to the gym on Sunday. Here it is though… I will be more intense and frequent with my running over the next few months as my mileage increases. Last year I ran the race with a 12 minute mile average. This year, I am trying to shave 5 to 10 minutes off of my time. That means I need to run between a 11 minute and 11 and 30 second mile for all 10 miles. I know that this is not fast, but I am not trying to get that much faster right now, I am still working on building back up my stamina.

I finally made it to the gym with all the snow today. This was supposed to be my workout last Thursday but because I was sick, I didn’t make it to the gym. I did it today instead.

Feb 4,5,6 – Rest Days

I was sick on the 4th and still not feeling well in the morning the 5th.
The snow came as predicted… and the gym is closed today. It is too snowy to run outside too!!! Like over a foot and still snowing. I am going to try and find a cross training video or something to do today. I will update later if I do.
